Magnesium is an important mineral!

Magnesium is the most important mineral in the body and is the number one most deficient nutrient amongst all of the vitamins and minerals. Deficiency in it commonly causes muscle tension, low energy, stress & anxiety.

Magnesium is important for muscle recovery and relaxation, digestion, energy production, and nerve excitation as an electrolyte. Signs and symptoms of magnesium deficiency are muscle twitches, cramps or ticks, general and muscle fatigue, anxiety, high blood pressure, insomnia and PMS.

Magnesium is also great to combat many conditions including anxiety, chronic fatigue, depression, high blood pressure, diabetes and blood sugar dysregulation, migraines, PMS, and more!

You can get magnesium out of whole grains like brown rice, almonds, and green leafy vegetables like rocket, spinach, broccoli & bok choy. However because it is such an important mineral we use it up so quickly and it is hard to get enough of it. Most people do benefit from supplementation with magnesium.

Not all magnesium supplements are the same. Common supermarket brands are poorly absorbed and can keep you running to the toilet! I use practitioner only brands of magnesium that are well absorbed and will aid in your muscle recovery. Magnesium is better taken after food away from medications and other minerals.
